The Chien-Shiung Wu Summer Research Fellowship Fund seeks to support students who have successfully completed Frontiers of Science, and who wish to engage in scientific research in the summer following their first year at Columbia. Students may apply to conduct research with a Frontiers of Science faculty member or another faculty member from a Columbia science department.
The program provides support in the amount of $5000 for ten weeks of research during the summer at Columbia University.
In order to apply a candidate must:
- Be a first-year student in Columbia College or General Studies;
- Be in good academic and disciplinary standing, with preference given to students who have a cumulative GPA not less than 3.0;
- Commit to performing research for a minimum of ten weeks, 35 hours/week;
- Commit to participating in a university wide symposium where research findings will be presented in poster format in the fall.
