You are able to study at Ben-Gurion University, in Beersheva, through the Ginsburg-Ingerman Overseas Student Program (OSP). The OSP provides language learning as well as coursework in English. Should you be proficient in Hebrew, you may also be eligible to directly enroll in coursework at Hebrew University.
Ben-Gurion University is a vibrant center for research and teaching, with more than 17,500 students. The university is well-known for engineering and the sciences.
All OSP participants for a semester or year enroll in a 6-week Ulpan (intensive Hebrew language program) prior to the start of the semester, unless an exemption is granted. Following the Ulpan, you enroll in academic courses and continue your study of Hebrew language. OSP offers English-taught courses in disciplines such as anthropology, environmental studies, gender/women’s studies, global health, history, Israel Studies, Jewish Studies, linguistics, literature, Middle Eastern Studies, philosophy, political science, religious studies, sociology, and sustainability. Should you be proficient in Hebrew, coursework is available through direct enrollment in the sciences and engineering in addition to various departments within the campus.
The dorms assigned to international students are located across the street from the campus. The sports complex and train station are also within walking distance of the dormitories and the train station.
The university offers a wide variety of extra-curricular activities for you to explore. Extra-curricular activities give you the opportunity to explore new interests, cultivate old ones and integrate with the local Israeli student body.
