A highlight of the Goldsmiths academics is its visual cultures department. Students may study in Goldsmiths' Visual Cultures department through direct enrollment for the full academic year only. This program is intended for Columbia College majors in Visual Arts or joint majors in Visual Arts and Art History. Visual Cultures is a combined program of Fine Art and History of Art is available which allows students to integrate both fine art practice and the study of history of art in the context of contemporary visual culture. In this program, students participate actively in seminars, discussing their own work and that of other students. Program Features

Goldsmiths is located in New Cross, in South East London, a vibrant area of the city within 15 minutes by tube from central London. It offers on-campus housing and is known for its creative and diverse community. Goldsmiths' Student Union is one of the most active among the University of London schools and organizes clubs, sports, special events, campus publications, and volunteer activities.
