You have the opportunity to learn Korean language and experience Korean culture through direct experience in Korean summer language courses. Classes are offered at two levels of proficiency, beginning and intermediate, with an average of twelve students or less in each class. Korean language classes integrate all language skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing along with each separate respective skill based classes of speaking, listening, reading and writing.
You enroll in Korean courses at the appropriate level. You take a placement test upon arrival to determine the most suitable course level. Courses are available from beginner through the intermediate levels.
SEAS students may also take courses English. Columbia College and SEAS students have different summer transfer credit rules, especially for courses taught in English. Students interested in this program should review summer transfer credit eligibility to help determine which courses offered on the summer program will be eligible for transfer credit.
During the summer, you live in on-campus housing in order to be close to courses on campus.

- To apply for program admission, complete an external application directly on the program webpage. Note that this deadline may be in advance of the Columbia clearance deadline.
