Explore how Senegalese society has cultivated peaceful coexistence in religiously plural settings through the SIT Senegal: Global Security & Religious Pluralism program. Senegal provides a model of religious coexistence in which radicalization is unusual and Sufi Islam has an unusually close relationship to the government.
In addition to either taking intensive Wolof or French throughout your time abroad, you also explore the following topics: Senegalese society, global security, research methods and ethics. You also have the opportunity to complete an independent study project (ISP).
Various excursions throughout Senegal and beyond are available as well as host family experiences.
