Before studying abroad, I had never even left the country. With the help of UGE, I got to be an Oxford student studying Politics and International Relations in the United Kingdom for an entire academic year! I was able to attend lectures by renowned scholars, dress up for formals, study at world-class libraries, and participate in debates at the Oxford Union (where I even got to hear from John Legend).

Outside of my courses, I found a community within Oxford’s African and Caribbean Society, indulged way too much on fish and chips, explored as many tourist attractions in London as I could, and traveled to eight different countries (including Spain, Italy, Ireland for St. Patrick's Day, and Singapore!) When you’re abroad for such a short time, you learn to make every day meaningful! I intend to carry that same lesson with me here in New York, and constantly meet new people, sightsee, and enjoy the city I’ve come to call home for one final year!
