Tuition: The Naomi Kadar Fellowship includes a $1,100 scholarship which will cover the cost of the tuition.

Deposit: Students are responsible for submitting a $250 deposit when confirming their participation to the program. It's refundable upon completion of Fellowship requirements.

Tuition and fees are subject to approval by The Trustees of Columbia University and may change.


Estimated Out-of-Pocket Expenses are not billed by Columbia. The estimated amounts in this section provide a basis for students to determine their individual budgets for expenses related to their time overseas for the duration of the program. These expenses are not paid to the program.

Housing: The program arranged housing at Tel Aviv University is covered by the fellowship. Housing throughout Poland is covered by the Fellowship.

Meals and Local Transportation: Each student will receive a stipend up to $600 to cover some food costs and local transportation in Israel. Most food costs and local travel within Poland will be covered by the fellowship.

Visa: American citizens do not require visas to Israel and Poland. For non-American students, please refer to your local embassy for visa information.

Books and course supplies: All course materials are covered by the Fellowship.

Cell Phone: All students are required to have a working cell phone capable of making and receiving both local and international calls throughout the duration of the program. This estimate is based on costs of U.S. cell phone plans.

Airfare: There will be a group flight that will be leaving and returning to NYC and it's covered by the Fellowship. Students are responsible for making their own travel arrangements to and from the NYC airport.

Personal Expenses: Personal expenses are highly variable based on each person's spending habits. These expenses are the students' financial responsibility and will not be covered by the Fellowship.
It is required that you maintain a health insurance policy that will also provide coverage outside the U.S. for routine, urgent and emergent care. This cost is not included in the chart above.
