Airfare: Estimated cost of round-trip airfare from NYC to Paris. You are responsible for making your own travel arrangements from your preferred departure city to the program.

Meals: The cost for meals and food will vary widely depending on your housing option and individual spending habits. Costs can be kept down by preparing your own meals and only eating out occasionally. Students doing the homestay option will have breakfast and three dinners a week provided by their homestay family.

Visa Expenses: Since U.S. students do not need a visa to study in France for less than 90 days, the majority of students will not need a visa. However, if you are not a U.S. or E.U. citizen, you should check the French Consulate website to determine if you need a visa. International students may need a visa, which will incur additional costs including travel to visa application appointment.

Local Transportation: Costs include daily transportation needs and does not include personal travel.

Books and Course Materials: Information regarding textbooks and other course materials will be distributed before the course begins.

Cell Phone: All students are required to have a working cell phone capable of making and receiving both local and international calls throughout the duration of the program. This estimate is based on the costs of U.S. cell phone plans.

Personal Expenses: Personal expenses are highly variable based on each person's spending habits. They may include entertainment and personal travel.

As part of the program, you will be covered for urgent and emergent care while you are abroad. Routine and preventive care is not included so you should maintain a health insurance policy that will provide coverage outside the U.S. or your home country. This cost is not included in the chart above.
