Overview
Spend your semester in the global hub of Milan on the CIEE Italy: Business + Culture program. Choose from a unique mix of courses at CIEE's Study Center and Università Bocconi, one of Italy's leading higher education institutions, offering a wide range of internationally recognized programs that combine academic excellence with a strong focus on innovation and global perspectives.
Academics
Choose from a range of CIEE courses and take 2-3 host institution courses at Università Bocconi that specialize in economics, finance, international politics and governance to equip you with the skills to navigate the intersection of business and culture in a dynamic, international context.
This CIEE program offers a mixture of CIEE and local university courses. If you are interested in taking all of your coursework alongside local students, please consider applying to our exchange partnership with Bocconi University. Please note that this exchange partnership has a limited number of slots and requires students to be more independent in their experience abroad.
Please note that Columbia College generally transfers credits only for courses taken in liberal arts subjects. Some credits may not transfer in subjects that are taught at Columbia professional schools, such as business, management, or fashion. If you have concerns regarding Università Bocconi's course offerings, please contact the UGE Adviser listed below and review our Academic Credit Guidelines > Columbia-Approved.
Program Features
You will have the option to live in a homestay, a residence hall with a mix of CIEE, local, and international students, or a shared apartment with CIEE students.
CIEE also complements the program with a variety of co-curricular activities and excursions that showcase Milan's culture, values, and local art, film, music, cuisine, and sports scenes.
