Overview
The CIEE Netherlands: Social Sciences and Humanities in Amsterdam invites you to study a range of social science and humanities courses at CIEE Amsterdam and the University of Amsterdam. As a supported direct enrollment program in a progressive, multicultural city, you will have the opportunity to begin or expand your interests in Dutch language, politics, and culture. Due to enrollment caps, students will be nominated to participate in this CIEE program.
Academics
With CIEE's Study Center in Amsterdam, steps away from the University of Amsterdam, you will be able to access any of your classes easily. You can choose from a wide array of courses across disciplines such as Political Science, European Studies, Film Studies, History, Psychology, Urban Studies, and more. You may also enroll in Dutch language courses at the Dutch Language Institute at the University of Amsterdam (INTT), taught at all levels.
All CIEE courses are complemented with co-curricular activities and excursions that go beyond the city to enhance classroom learning and provide intercultural understanding.
Program Features
Since housing is tight in Amsterdam, CIEE offers a variety of accommodation options within the Amsterdam metropolitan area. You have the option of living in a homestay, residence halls, or shared apartments. If CIEE cannot accommodate your first housing choice, they will let you know before you arrive onsite.
You will be able to integrate into the Dutch culture through various activities organized by CIEE. Past activities include volunteer opportunities, workshops, local clubs or organizations, and more.
