Hello!! :)
My name is Chabelly and I’m a senior in CC studying Cognitive Science, specializing in Decision Sciences. I’m passionate about investigating how individuals/systems can mitigate biases and make accurate judgments in areas of psychology, business, law, and policy. Being an FGLI student from Colorado, studying abroad was a daunting process, but I was so lucky to find the perfect program that combined all my interests while providing me with an unforgettable experience abroad.
I was involved in the rigorous execution of a global study aimed at investigating online decision architecture. I engaged in policy research, developed technical coding skills, and improved my academic writing. Outside of researching, I encountered a newfound love for biking as I would bike to grass fields, hang out with the local cows, and read/journal. My European summer wasn’t complete without hanging out at pubs with Columbia peers and international students/scientists in the program, eating endless amounts of cuisines in London and Cambridge, and punting down the river Cam.
This was such a transformative experience that was incredibly accessible to me with the help of UGE. I’d be happy to discuss my experiences related to the research program at Cambridge, navigating study abroad as an FGLI student, and so much more! :)
