__________
Through the UGE, I spent an incredible five weeks in Paris this summer with the Summer in Paris: French Immersion program. I lived in a dorm-style accommodation and loved the easy access to all parts of the city. With the program, I took two French-instructed courses on contemporary French cinema and on 21st Century French literature, both topics that I enjoy.
Outside of the courses, I enjoyed exploring Paris, the different communities, museums, and art exhibits, and more. I spent much of my summer at the large museums and visiting small galleries, at the cinémathèque, at the Bibliothèque Nationale de France, at a poetry open-mic bar, and at public parks. Some of my favorites include the Lucernaire, Musée Rodin, and Parc des Buttes-Chaumont. With my French film class, I went on an excursion to the Wes Anderson exhibit at the Cinémathèque française, a wonderful way to merge my academic interests and my love for exploring the art scene in Paris. Though the experience was only a few weeks, I had an unforgettable summer!
