Tuition and fees are subject to approval by The Trustees of Columbia University and may change.

Tuition: The program invoice will be sent via e-bill June 1st, 2020 and will be due on June 18th, 2020. It covers tuition, meals and local transportation. It does not cover airfare, visa expenses, medical insurance, cell phone, books and course materials, and personal expenses.

Document (transcript) Fee: This one-time fee of $105 is charged to new students. This fee will be included on your e-bill. Barnard students might be charged this fee if they haven’t taken a course at Columbia.

The estimated amounts in this section provide a basis for students to determine their individual budgets for expenses related to their time overseas for the duration of the program. The below estimate is an average of what students say they actually spend. These expenses are NOT paid to the program.

Housing: All housing costs are included in the program costs.

Meals: All meal costs are included in the program costs.

Local Transportation: All local transportation is included in the program costs.

Visa: Visa costs are posted directly on the Jordanian Consulate website. Costs are updated as of January 2020 and are subject to change.

Books and course supplies: Students are responsible for purchasing the books and course materials prior to departure.

Cell Phone: All students are required to have a working cell phone capable of making and receiving both local and international calls throughout the duration of the program. The cost above is based on U.S. cellphone plans.

Airfare: Estimated cost of a round-trip airfare to Jordan. Students are responsible for making their own travel arrangements from their preferred departure city to the program.

Personal Expenses: Personal expenses are highly variable based on each person's spending habits. Personal travel is not applicable, so any additional personal expenses may be for snacks, souvenirs, camel rides or SCUBA diving trips, if desired.


It is required that you maintain a health insurance policy that will also provide coverage outside the U.S. for routine, urgent and emergent care. This cost is not included in the chart above.
