Tuition: Columbia will send your program tuition invoice via e-bill during the first week of June 2026; payment is due by the first week of July 2026. It covers tuition, some course materials, and costs related to any program-related activities.

Housing: All students are required to live in program-arranged housing and the cost will be charged on your Columbia e-bill. The housing fee also includes a few group meals and activities.

**Document (transcript) Fee: This one-time fee is charged to new students and will be included in your e-bill. Barnard students might be charged this fee if they haven’t taken a course at Columbia.

Meals: The cost for meals and food will vary widely depending on individual spending habits. Costs can be kept down by preparing your own meals and only eating out occasionally. This estimate assumes a combination of preparing your own meals and eating out.

Local Transportation: Many locations are within walking distance of student housing. Any personal travel is not included in this estimate.

Visa Expenses: Visa costs differ depending on citizenship. More information about visas will be provided to admitted students.

Cell Phone: All students are required to have a working cell phone capable of making and receiving both local and international calls throughout the duration of the program. This estimate is based on the cost of getting a local sim card.

Airfare: Estimated cost of round-trip airfare from New York to London, then travel to Cambridge by railway. You are responsible for making your own travel arrangements from their preferred departure city to the program.

Personal Expenses: Personal expenses are highly variable based on each person's spending habits. Any personal travel is not included in this estimate.

As part of the program, you will be covered for urgent and emergent care while you are abroad. Routine and preventive care is not included so you should maintain a health insurance policy that will provide coverage outside the U.S. or your home country. This cost is not included in the chart above.
