Join CASA Cuba's hybrid event, which uniquely brings together voices in the United States and Cuba to showcase student research, present recent publications, and host roundtables on current events.

Two students who studied during the spring semester in Havana have already returned to further research projects begun with CASA Cuba. Jaimee Martin is interested in how Black trans people in Havana use mutual aid and international trans solidarity to build collective power. Bennett Lacerte is following up on questions of food sovereignty and urban farming. Another former student, Sasha Gilles, turned their CASA Cuba experience into a PhD and years of cross-border research and collaboration.

These students will present snapshots of their projects and be in conversation with faculty from Cuba, the United States, and Australia. Faculty commentators include Zuleica Romay (Casa de las Américas), Reinaldo Funes (Fundación Antonio Núñez Jiménez), Daniel Rodriguez (Brown University), and Adrian Hearn (University of Melbourne).
