Rise Up For The Amazon! [Fall 2022]

The campaign aims to raise awareness among high school students about the issues that the Pachamama Foundation is trying to alleviate including the protection of the Sacred basins of the Amazon and indigenous territories against the expansion of extractive industries. It aims to encourage the young students to become involved in actions for a low-carbon and sustainable society. The campaign will adopt the participatory approach. For that we have designed a pedagogical tool aiming to understand the crucial role of Sacred basins and unpacking the stakes underlying it. The toolkits also focus on solutions, call-to-action and suggest some ways in which students can involve themselves in the mitigation of the climate crisis . We have also proposed an activity. In other words, a ‘participatory game’, for students to see in a visual way how climate change works and what can be done to mitigate the consequences of it. Finally, we will also create a social media page on instagram to supplement the information discussed and connect with a wider audience.
