New Booster Vaccination Mandate

New Booster Vaccination Mandate

The current vaccination mandate has been expanded to require booster doses for all study abroad students who meet the criteria for eligibility. In general, you are eligible for a booster six months after the last dose of your initial Pfizer or Moderna series (or WHO-authorized vaccine) or two months after the initial J & J vaccination.

If you haven’t already done so, please obtain a booster dose prior to your departure for your semester abroad. Whether or not you can obtain a booster while you are abroad will be dependent on local policies and guidelines. A valid digital COVID vaccination certificate may be required to enter public spaces while you are overseas. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact your UGE program adviser.

All students will be expected to upload proof of their booster doses through the Columbia Health Patient Portal by January 31, 2022.

To securely upload your vaccination information, please note:

  • You will need your Columbia email and password to access the Patient Portal.

  • Please have your Covid-19 vaccine documentation available to upload.

If you are not able to access the Columbia Health Patient Portal, please contact health@columbia.edu.

All students should continue to monitor travel and arrival requirements as they prepare for their departures. International SOS is also available 24/7 in the event of emergency assistance while in transit and while students are abroad.
