Overview
This program, in partnership with IFSA, allows you to enroll at the University of St Andrews. Beautiful, traditional, and small, the University of St Andrews is one of the oldest universities in the world. With a wide array of subjects, St Andrews offers you the ability to study many different topics.
Academics
The University of St Andrews was founded in 1413, making it the oldest in Scotland and the third oldest in the United Kingdom. St Andrews has an international reputation for teaching and research.
Popular subjects include Art History, Biology, Classics, Earth and Environmental Sciences, English, History, International Relations, Mathematics, Physics, and Astronomy. You will take classes alongside full-degree local students. You will take a traditional course load of 60 Scottish (SCQF) units, which is three to six courses.
Program Features
St Andrews is small, beautiful, and historic. The university is integrated into the town, which is situated along the Fife coast and is full of old buildings dating back to the 6th Century. With easy access to the mountains and the nearby coast, outdoor opportunities abound for exploring the Scottish countryside. St Andrews is 45 miles north of Edinburgh and 13 miles south of Dundee.
St Andrews has a wide variety of student housing, ranging from traditional residence halls with shared bedrooms, shared bathrooms, and dining halls, to modern buildings divided into apartments for groups of five, each with its own bedroom and bathroom.
Because the campus is compact and spread throughout the town of St Andrews, you won’t be far from key university buildings or the best of this beautiful town, no matter where you live.

- To apply for Columbia clearance (approval) to study abroad, click on "Start Your Application" on this webpage. Clearance applications are approved on a rolling basis until the application deadline listed on this webpage.
- To apply for program admission, complete an external application directly on the program webpage. Note that this deadline may be in advance of the Columbia clearance deadline.
- This program had a minimum GPA requirement of 3.2.
