Overview
CET Florence offers motivated learners with challenging academic content and enriching extra-curricular activities. Students will take a combination of a required Italian language class offered at any level and English-taught electives that have field-based components in the city.
Academics
Students blend one Italian language class with three or four English-taught electives. In these classes, your professors will challenge you during in-class discussions, and assignments will ask you to think critically. The English-taught elective courses are across several fields, including Art, Economics, Film, History, International Studies, Italian Studies, Political Science, Psychology, and more.
Also, many of the English-taught electives won't just be in the classroom and will have field-based components, such as visiting a museum or spending your time learning in a piazza.
Program Features
You will have the option of living in a shared apartment with CET peers or a homestay.
To help students connect with locals, CET hosts aperitivi (a happy hour with appetizers) with the University of Florence students and offers the opportunity to have dinner with a local family for a night of cultural exchange. You can also give back to the community by opting to volunteer with a local organization like becoming a tour guide at some of Florence's oldest churches or tutoring high schoolers new to Italy in English.
