Overview

This study abroad program through IFSA allows you to take courses at the King’s College London, one of the UK’s oldest, largest and most prestigious universities. Located in the heart of London, you can take classes in a variety of subjects, alongside local students. You will live in an in a campus residence hall.

Academics

Located in the heart of London, King’s College London offers classes across a wide array of disciplines. Academic strengths at King’s College London include English, Film Studies, Life and Health Sciences, Mathematics, Philosophy, Religious Studies and their world-renowned War Studies. There can be very few, if any, course options in Economics and Psychology. Some subjects have restrictions for visiting students, which you can view on the IFSA website. You will take classes alongside full-degree local students. You will most likely take a traditional course load - four courses worth the equivalent of four Columbia points each.

Full-degree British students traditionally study only one subject during their undergraduate career. As a visiting student, you are allowed to take courses in more than one department, but you must meet course prerequisites. Know than timetable conflicts can occur when looking at courses in different departments.

Program Features

King’s College London is located in the heart of London, near the River Thames. It is close to a host of famous centers of learning and culture, with a wide range of entertainment options close by. You will live in an in a campus residence hall. Very few of the residences are within walking distance of the academic buildings at King's College. You should expect a daily commute to campus of anywhere between 30 minutes to one hour. As a visiting student, you will have the access to the University’s student union and student clubs and social activities. IFSA will provide administrative support for your experience. They will offer academic advising, an orientation, activities and excursions.

  • To apply for program admission, complete an external application directly on the program webpage. Note that this deadline may be in advance of the Columbia clearance deadline.
