Overview
This program, in partnership with IFSA, allows you to enroll as a visiting student at SOAS, University of London. SOAS, University of London, is the only higher education institution in the UK specializing in the study of Asia, Africa, and the Middle East, and is one of the world's leading institutions of its kind.
Academic Programs
Students can choose from hundreds of courses across 17 departments at SOAS, which offer an interdisciplinary perspective on the parts of the world under study. The specializations on Asia, Africa, and the Middle East are supplemented by a wide range of foreign languages available at all levels of expertise.
With half the student body from beyond the UK, being here is almost like taking a world tour.
Program Features
SOAS students enjoy a campus environment in the heart of London. Located in central London and known for its elegant gardens and literary heritage, the Bloomsbury campus is full of museums, cafes, parks, and grand architecture. The British Museum, Oxford Street, Covent Garden, and the West End are all within easy walking distance.
Students live in flats (apartments) provided by IFSA or in housing provided by SOAS.

To apply, you must complete the two steps below. Deadlines vary and some applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Therefore, you should complete the steps below simultaneously:
- To apply for Columbia clearance (approval) to study abroad, click on "Start Your Application" on this webpage. Clearance applications are approved on a rolling basis until the application deadline listed on this webpage.
- To apply for program admission, complete an external application directly on the program webpage. Note that this deadline may be in advance of the Columbia clearance deadline.
