Overview

Study at Tel Aviv University's (TAU) Lowy International School, located in Israel's cultural, financial, and industrial heartland. At TAU, you’ll have the chance to grow a network of friends from all over the world. In addition, you will have the opportunity to take rigorous academic coursework and explore Israel's rich history and heritage.

Academics

You will participate in TAU's Study Abroad program at the Lowy International School, which offers flexible, English-taught options for international students. You can take a wide variety of exciting courses in International Relations, Social Sciences, Arts, Environmental Studies, History, Religion, and more.

It is mandatory to enroll in an intensive Hebrew course called an Ulpan prior to the start of the study abroad semester. During this pre-term course, you will participate in fun activities on campus, field trips, and even in-class movies! Students at a more advanced level (Level 8 or above) can be exempt from the mandatory Ulpan component.

With prior approval, Study Abroad students may be permitted to take courses that are part of the TAU BA
Program in Liberal Arts (taught in English). But please note, these do not end on the same dates as the Study Abroad program. If you are interested in taking BA courses, prior approval is necessary, and permission is never guaranteed.

Program Features

You can enjoy all of TAU's campus accommodations, and you will have the option to be housed in a number of different housing facilities. You may choose to be housed in either single or double rooms in on-campus dormitories or in off-campus dormitories/apartments.

Throughout the semester, a number of excursions are available to you in order to become more familiar with the country of Israel. In the past, excursion locations have included the Dead Sea, Galilee, and the Negev.
