International Education Week is a time to highlight education exchange and global connection. Join the Columbia Community from November 17th-20th, 2025 for a variety of events to celebrate.

Student Panel with FLI Network

Monday, November 17th from 7-9pm in Fayerweather Hall, Room 301M

UGE and FLI Network are hosting a student-led panel to discuss various experiences as First Generation/Low Income students abroad. We will discuss topics such as financial aid and scholarships, on-site support, and preconceived biases about accessibility to study abroad. The panel will be held in Fayerweather Hall, Room 301M. We will be providing food and drinks, so stop by to have a bite and learn more about the different types of resources available to students who'd like to study abroad! Register Here.

Columbia in London Study Abroad Information Session

Wednesday, November 19th from 12-1pm in Uris Hall, Room 219

RSVP to join the Columbia in London info session! Stop by to learn about studying abroad in London and grab some food. We will be discussing the Columbia in London program and life at Queen Mary University of London, and we will be joined by Professor Stathis Gourgouris, who will be teaching the Global Seminar on the program in Fall 2026, and by a representative from Queen Mary University of London. Wednesday, November 19th from 5-7:30pm in Lerner Hall

Celebrate the global experiences here on Columbia's campus during the Global Café! This event, hosted by Multicultural Affairs, will offer free drinks and snacks from cultural student organizations and campus offices along the 2nd Fl Ramps in Lerner Hall! We will also be tabling at the event, so make sure to join us!

ISSO United Nations Tour

Thursday, November 20th from 12:45-4pm

Join the ISSO GLASS team for a visit to the United Nations: Standard Guided Tour, and take a journey through the corridors of international diplomacy. You will get an inside look into the General Assembly Hall and Security Council Chamber. Register Here.

Columbia Summer in Itoshima Information Session

Thursday, November 20th from 5-6pm ONLINE

Join this online information session to learn about our pilot program of Columbia Summer in Itoshima. In this program, a small group of students will study history, ecology, anthropology, literature and economics while planting rice, cutting bamboo and harvesting oysters in an experimental program that reimagines liberal arts education from the roots up. The 2026 theme, Thinking Like a Watershed, explores the relationship between water and human society at multiple scales. Register Here.

International Education Week Film Screening with ISSO: Brief Tender Light

Friday, November 21st from 6-10pm

As international students/ scholars, we all have unique stories about our journeys abroad. However, regardless of where we are from, we all share similarities within our stories that help us relate to one another. By engaging in dialogue, we are able to discover those similarities and learn about the differences that make each of our stories unique. This is why we are inviting you to join ISSO in collaboration with the office of Multicultural Affairs, for the screening of Brief Tender Light during International Education Week (IEW). Brief Tender Light is directed by a Ghanaian MIT alum, Arthur Musah, who will be joining us for the film screening! Register Here.
