GLS let me have more money in my pocket to spend on fun things! Studying abroad made me feel 10x more independent. If you think moving to NYC changed you, wait till you experience class abroad. The GLOBES program is especially cool because you have your cohort of 10 Columbia students but also 30 other junior researchers from international institutions! I have met so many amazing people that I would have never met otherwise, and the cultural and academic exchange is unbeatable.
We built a whole manuscript from scratch within about 2 weeks! We did some pre-work over the summer, but the real work starts when we arrive at Cambridge. I experienced the ups and downs of data collection, saw every moving piece behind global psychology research, struggled but persevered in R, and combined all our findings in one document. 1 Summer online, 3 weeks in person, and 1 manuscript ready for publication!
