The Global Learning Schoarship (GLS) helped me with the ability to attend a summer fellowship that I was awarded. Without it, I would not have had the funds to cover the transportation and housing costs not covered by the fellowship.
I was able to attend the Summer Program: Global Neuroscience in Paris, which had two amazing classes filled with exciting content and guest lecturers at the top of their field, led by two incredible Columbia professors. We were able to build exciting relationships with these guest lecturers that would uplift us in our academic careers and help welcome us into a rich academic community with like-minded individuals. We attended exciting labs and conferences related to the curriculum as well.
Going to the BRAINS institute in Paris was one of the highlights, along with meeting the people doing exciting research there. I was able to do my own guided research project for one of the classes, where I gathered data all across Paris and met some amazing people there that I now call friends.
